Geebo Church grew up near Wilmington, Delaware, attending Union College as an undergraduate, and the University of Pennsylvania as a graduate student.

He later moved to Shelburne, Vermont, where he has lived since 1975, with his wife and son, instructing Art History and Drawing courses at Champlain College since 1980.

Geebo continues his work at Champlain College and at his home studio in Shelburne, investigating his own understanding of drawing and painting.

His admiration for both the Dutch and French Realist schools has influenced his attempts to develop a parallel, contemporary art, using modest landscapes and domestic views as subjects worthy of an individual's interest in an effort to expand a viewer's visual perception.
